THE 1st BANGKOK ART FESTIVAL
Last week, I had to cover a story at the Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Center, which located in Bangkok’s old city area, not too far from the Chinatown. Without any skyscrapers, the old city has kept its historical perspective and the spirit of Thais at heart. What special is that there is an event held along the footpath in front of the the Art Center. At the event, you will be able to enjoy performing arts, music and singing, homemade food and drinks, Do It Yourself or D.I.Y workshops as well as handmade products in all branches of the imagination.
Art and craft workshops, where anyone could enjoy for free
If it’s too hot, you could take a short break from Bangkok’s summer heat by checking out cool sculptures and paintings in the Art Center.
I had a chance to talk with Phiphat Neawkongsak , Arts Center Director of the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture. He said that the first Bangkok Arts Festival is pretty much platform for creative Thai designers and artists to showcase their talents as well as their products.
Plenty of food stalls
Live music and traditional performances
I really enjoy the event and really like it as it opens up opportunities for young and new artists to showoff their ability. For anyone who would like to take a visit, the 1st Bangkok Art Festival takes place every weekdays until May 15th along the street outside the Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Center, from 4 to 8 p.m. The entry is free of charge.
